As terrorist organizations increasingly exploit the global narcotics trade to fund their operations, the intersection of terrorism and drug trafficking poses a critical threat to international security. The agenda item, The Nexus Between Terrorism and Drug Trafficking: Examining ISIS Involvement in the Global Narcotics Trade, explores how groups like ISIS utilize drug routes, engage with organized crime networks, and benefit from unstable regions to sustain their activities. The discussion further evaluates how member states can enhance border control, intelligence-sharing, and financial tracking to dismantle these networks.

By addressing this issue, this committee aims to develop coordinated strategies that disrupt the terrorism-drug trafficking nexus and strengthen international frameworks for combating both threats simultaneously.
